Top Casino Hotels in Quebec

Loto-Québec runs four casinos in the province, but only two are actually built into a hotel. Casino de Mont-Tremblant's nearest hotels are a shuttle ride away, not attached — so it doesn't make this list, and Casino de Montréal has no hotel at all.

From first to second, by the stay

Every entry below includes the casino floor as a fact, the way we'd list a pool or a spa — never as the reason for the ranking.

Why only twoQuebec has four Loto-Québec casinos: Montréal, Lac-Leamy, Charlevoix and Mont-Tremblant. Casino de Montréal has no hotel on site. Casino de Mont-Tremblant is a standalone gaming floor on Versant Soleil — the Fairmont Tremblant and other nearby hotels are a five-to-six-minute drive away with a casino shuttle, not a shared building or ownership. Only Lac-Leamy and Charlevoix were built with a hotel genuinely attached, so those are the two entries here.

Hilton Lac-Leamy (Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy)

A five-star, 350-room Hilton beside Quebec's biggest casino entertainment complex, minutes from Ottawa

Gatineau, QC (across the river from Ottawa)
Indoor + outdoor poolAmeriSpaTheatre
  • 350 rooms, rated five stars by Loto-Québec's own materials
  • Théâtre du Casino hosts touring concerts and comedy
  • A few minutes' drive from downtown Ottawa, across the Ottawa River

Lac-Leamy is Quebec's most urban casino hotel, and the only one on this list within easy reach of a second province's capital.

Staying at Hilton Lac-Leamy

The hotel sits at the centre of a larger entertainment complex in Gatineau's National Capital Region, directly beside the casino and its theatre, bars, restaurants and nightclub. Each of the 350 rooms is positioned by Loto-Québec's own materials as five-star, with an indoor and an outdoor pool open year-round, the AmeriSpa Hilton Lac-Leamy, a fitness centre and a conference centre handling meetings and weddings.

Because Gatineau sits directly across the Ottawa River from Ontario's capital, the property draws as much from Ottawa's business and government traffic as from Quebec tourism — an unusual cross-border pull among the entries on this register so far.

Best forOttawa-Gatineau visitors who want a five-star stay with a casino, theatre and conference space all under one roof.

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu (Hôtel-Casino de Charlevoix)

A historic St. Lawrence River hotel, the first in Quebec ever linked to a casino

La Malbaie, QC (Charlevoix region)
405 roomsGolf courseSpa
  • 405 rooms in a hotel dating back over a century
  • Became the first Quebec casino linked to a hotel after a 1998–99 renovation
  • About 150km (150 minutes) east of Quebec City on the St. Lawrence

Charlevoix is the oldest hotel-casino pairing in Quebec, and the only one on this register set on a working heritage property rather than a purpose-built complex.

Staying at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu

The hotel sits on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in La Malbaie, about 150km east of Quebec City. Loto-Québec and Canadian Pacific Hotels (now Fairmont) partnered with the Solidarity Fund QFL in 1998 to acquire, renovate and reopen the historic Manoir Richelieu in 1999, expanding the adjoining Casino de Charlevoix in the process — the first time a Quebec casino had been directly linked to a hotel.

A championship golf course, full-service spa, indoor and outdoor pools, a zip line and a via ferrata course round out the resort side of a stay, alongside the casino's own restaurants and bars, including the St-Hubert Signé Casino restaurant and the river-view La Brise bar.

Best forTravellers who want a heritage hotel and St. Lawrence River views alongside golf, spa and a smaller, calmer casino floor than Lac-Leamy's.

Ground rules

Judged as hotels

The gaming floor gets a fact box, the same way a pool or a spa does. The ranking itself comes from check-in, the room, the view, and what's within an easy walk or drive.

Editorial, with real links out

No affiliate tags, booking widgets or referral codes on any outbound link — each one goes straight to the property's own site. This page doesn't earn anything from where you book.

Facts drift faster than reviews

Room counts, gaming-floor sizes and operating hours change as properties renovate or change hands. Confirm details with the hotel directly before booking.

Play responsibly, if at all

Quebec's legal minimum age for gaming areas is 18. Set a fixed amount before you sit down, and treat it as the cost of the evening. Both stays on this page work fine without a single bet.

Questions people ask about Quebec's casino hotels

Why isn't Casino de Mont-Tremblant on this list?

Because it has no hotel attached. It's a standalone gaming floor on Versant Soleil; the Fairmont Tremblant and other hotels nearby are a five-to-six-minute drive away and reach the casino by shuttle, not a shared building or ownership.

Does Casino de Montréal have a hotel?

No. Quebec's original and best-known casino, on Montréal's Île Notre-Dame, has no lodging of its own, which is why it doesn't appear on this register despite being the province's flagship property.

What is the minimum age to enter a Quebec casino?

18, the same as Quebec's legal drinking age — the youngest minimum gaming age of any province covered on this register so far. Both properties on this list restrict their gaming floors to adults only, regardless of a guest's age for the hotel itself.

Which casino hotel is older, Lac-Leamy or Charlevoix?

Charlevoix, by a wide margin. The Manoir Richelieu dates back more than a century and became Quebec's first hotel-linked casino after a 1998–99 renovation; Casino du Lac-Leamy opened new, alongside its own purpose-built Hilton, in the 1990s.

This page is part of the Red Cherry Register project — an independent register of Canadian hotels that happen to have a casino on site, ranked as places to stay rather than as gaming venues. Facts above are drawn from official hotel sources, operator press materials and public travel listings, checked in October 2026; gaming-floor sizes, room counts and hours change as properties renovate, so confirm anything that matters with the hotel directly before booking. Hotel and brand names belong to their owners and are used only to identify which property each entry concerns.
