Method
How a hotel ends up on this list, and where it lands
Four steps, applied the same way for every province:
- 1
Shortlist by genuine hotel-casino pairing
We start from every licensed casino in the province and keep only the ones with a real hotel attached — on-site, directly connected, or under shared ownership. A casino with no lodging of its own, or only loosely nearby hotels, doesn't qualify.
- 2
Research the stay, separately from the gaming floor
For each remaining property we gather room counts, amenities, setting, ownership and history from the hotel's own site, its parent company, and independent travel or industry sources — then do the same, separately, for the casino's size and game mix.
- 3
Order by the stay alone
Position is set by arrival, room, view, dining and what's within an easy walk or drive. Gaming-floor size, slot count and table-game variety are recorded as facts in their own section of each entry, but don't move the ranking.
- 4
Revisit on a cycle
Entries are checked again periodically, and sooner if a property renovates, rebrands, changes hands or closes. Room counts and gaming-floor details are the figures most likely to be out of date between checks.
Questions about the method
Does the size of the casino affect a hotel's rank?
No. It's recorded as a fact for each entry but plays no role in the stay-quality ranking.
Are any of the rankings paid for?
No. There are no affiliate links, sponsored placements or paid positions anywhere on this site. Outbound links go directly to each hotel's own website.
How often is the British Columbia list updated?
Each province page notes a last-checked date. Entries are revisited on a cycle, or sooner if something material changes at a property.
What disqualifies a casino from this list?
No hotel of its own, or only a loosely nearby hotel with no shared ownership or direct physical connection.
