Top Casino Hotels in Manitoba

Manitoba has five licensed casinos. Exactly one of them — South Beach Casino & Resort — has a hotel genuinely built into the property. This page has one entry because that's how many actually qualify.

The one that qualifies

The entry below includes the casino floor as a fact, the way we'd list a pool or a spa — never as the reason for the ranking.

Why only oneManitoba's other First Nations-run casino, Sand Hills Casino near Carberry, has no hotel attached — Tripadvisor and the casino's own neighbours confirm the nearest lodging is an RV park and cabins next door, not an on-site hotel. Aseneskak Casino in The Pas has faced years of financial trouble and a contested relocation bid, and sourcing on any current on-site hotel there is too thin and conflicting to include with confidence. Winnipeg's Club Regent, McPhillips Station and Assiniboia Downs casinos have no hotel of their own either. That leaves South Beach as Manitoba's only clear, confirmed pairing.

  • On Highway 59, a short drive from Lake Winnipeg's beaches

South Beach is Manitoba's only genuine casino-hotel pairing, and the sole entry on this page as a result — not because we ran out of casinos to consider, but because every other one lacks a hotel of its own.

Staying at South Beach

The resort sits on the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation reserve on Highway 59, about 70km (an hour) northeast of Winnipeg, and is owned by the Southeast Resource Development Council Corp. — a consortium of seven southeastern Manitoba First Nations: Black River, Bloodvein, Brokenhead, Hollow Water, Little Grand Rapids, Pauingassi and Poplar River. The 93-room hotel leans into an Art Deco, tropical theme throughout, with grand and junior suites and a tropical indoor pool, hot tub and sauna.

Mango's Restaurant and the Blue Dolphin Lounge cover dining, and the Coral Reef Gift Shop sits next to the casino floor. The resort has donated over $2.5 million to its South Beach Community Spirit Fund since 2006, supporting local economic, education, cultural, social and health projects.

Best forWinnipeg-area travellers who want a short, genuinely resort-style escape with a casino attached, rather than a drive to the city's standalone gaming floors.

Ground rules

Judged as hotels

The gaming floor gets a fact box, the same way a pool or a spa does. The ranking itself comes from check-in, the room, the view, and what's within an easy walk or drive.

Editorial, with real links out

No affiliate tags, booking widgets or referral codes on any outbound link — each one goes straight to the property's own site. This page doesn't earn anything from where you book.

Facts drift faster than reviews

Room counts, gaming-floor sizes and operating hours change as properties renovate or change hands. Confirm details with the hotel directly before booking.

Play responsibly, if at all

Manitoba's legal minimum age for gaming areas is 18. Set a fixed amount before you sit down, and treat it as the cost of the evening. The stay on this page works fine without a single bet.

Questions people ask about Manitoba's casino hotels

Why does Manitoba only have one entry?

Because only one of Manitoba's five licensed casinos has a hotel genuinely on site. We'd rather list one real pairing than pad the count with casinos that have no lodging, or only a motel somewhere nearby.

Do Winnipeg's casinos have hotels?

No. Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino, Winnipeg's two main MBLL-run properties, both operate without an on-site hotel, as does Assiniboia Downs.

What is the minimum age to enter a Manitoba casino?

18, the same as Manitoba's legal drinking age — a year younger than neighbouring Saskatchewan and Ontario. South Beach restricts its gaming floor to adults only, regardless of a guest's age for the hotel itself.

Is Sand Hills Casino an alternative?

Not as a hotel stay. Sand Hills, near Carberry in western Manitoba, is a genuine casino with a ranch-themed gaming floor, but by its own neighbouring businesses' account it has no hotel attached — only nearby cabins and an RV park.

This page is part of the Red Cherry Register project — an independent register of Canadian hotels that happen to have a casino on site, ranked as places to stay rather than as gaming venues. Facts above are drawn from official hotel sources, operator press materials and public travel listings, checked in October 2026; gaming-floor sizes, room counts and hours change as properties renovate, so confirm anything that matters with the hotel directly before booking. Hotel and brand names belong to their owners and are used only to identify which property each entry concerns.
